I just read an interesting blog article about hacking H1N1

I’m a computer programmer so I actually found it quite interesting since the author made an analogy between computer and human viruses

you can learn a lot about flu virus, it’s program code, how it works and what can be done to make it more lethal or benign

Virus Attacks Tumor Brain Cells

now that’s a nice feature

the researchers at the Yale University used a kind of rabies virus called vesicular stomatitis virus (VSV) to kill human tumor cells implanted into mice

and it works, tumor cells get attacked and die while normal cells do not react with the virus

A Gene For Blocking HIV Discovered

by the scientists at University of Alberta led by Stephen Barr, a molecular virologist.

the gene named TRIM22 can block HIV in a cell culture and is present in our own body

this gene does not work in people already infected with HIV and the researchers are trying to find out why

Mint Tea

I love mint tea

I drink it every day, usually late at night before going to bed. No sugar, just the tea. It’s really cheap but I’m thinking about getting some leaves in the summer just for fun.
