Religulous

Saturday, December 27th, 2008

the movie is not that interesting as I thought it would be

it mostly deals with USA christianity but touches judaism and islam too

it looks as if they’ve took some of the ideas from Zeitgeist movie

anyway, go and see it and see what you think about it…

Zeitgeist: Addendum

Monday, November 10th, 2008

this is a continuation of the original Zeitgeist movie

now it talks about the bad things of the monetary system and offers an alternative, a resource based system that would benefit everyone

at start it gives some info about how money is made of thin air
then goes on to explain how the globalization works

in the end it finishes with asking us to awake ourselves, see the system we’re in and change it to the better one, resource based

read more about the movie at wikipedia

watch it at the official website for free

Pedigree Dogs Exposed

Tuesday, September 23rd, 2008

this has been an eye opening documentary about the misuse of dogs

it talks about the British Kennel Club and the inbreeding health problems of the dogs

inbreeding makes dogs that conform more to the breed standard but health problems are not really taken into account

most common issues include hip, elbow problems, cancer (usually bone or brain tumor), heart, breathing problems, shorter life span etc.

I personally like dogs and have thought about getting a pure bred dog or two, maybe starting a breeding business but after seeing this I have doubts…

I guess working dogs and mixed dogs, those that aren’t bread for beauty, are much healthier and should be a choice when getting a dog

as one person said in a movie, if you punch a dog in the head with a stick and the dog develops head problems you’d probably get arrested or something but if you breed a good looking dog with visible genetic health problems and pass on those genes that replicate the problems to the puppies you are not held responsible

think about it…

101 Embarrasing Sexual Accidents

Thursday, April 17th, 2008

hehe, I’m not always writing about boring documentaries

this time i saw a film called “101 Embarrasing Sexual Accidents”

there are really stupid things people do

like putting flowers into an urethra that damage it, putting forks there

having sex with animals, having sex with vacuum cleaners

putting a mobile phone in a vagina with vibration on and telling boyfriend to call in ;)

putting other things into vagina

putting concrete in the anus

etc.

go and see it, you’ll have a ton of fun ;)

Pit Bull Documentary

Tuesday, April 15th, 2008

ok, this one can be seen at google videos

now, I’m disgusted when I see the dog fights

like 10 or 15 years ago, dog fighting was really popular in Serbia and many local crooks went for an easy buck raising and fighting pit bulls

one of my neighbors had a pit bull that he took to a lot of fights

and I’d see him after the fights with his head and body all in scars

he was such a peaceful animal, me and him used to see each other eye to eye and we didn’t say a thing, we just understood one another

I don’t know what happened to him but I feel really sorry that bad people used those dogs for personal benefit

I think those dogs deserve better

now, they’re probably banned here after killing/biting some kids

but I’d like to hear from people raising pit bulls, can they be good family pets?

I wouldn’t take a pit bull, because I don’t want to put my neighbors in danger, unlike what some of them did before…

The Real Dirt on Farmer John

Tuesday, February 26th, 2008

first something about me

I have a purpose in my life

and that is to go to the countryside, buy a house and live there, hopefully on a mountain

I would need there the Internet, a family and a car (a jeep maybe)

and I can picture myself with a dog and few domestic animals that I would not kill

like chickens that I would have for eggs, a cow for fresh milk etc.

I wouldn’t need to have these animals but I’d like to have them

“The Real Dirt on Farmer John” is an unusual documentary

it is good because it talks about farming, something I may enjoy doing in the future, growing organic food for myself

the main character is not your typical farmer

his mother is a great lady, too bad she died :( I really enjoyed watching her, she’s really special

farmer John likes art, hippies

he describes his life, his family, his farm

how he started rich, got into debt and rose like a phoenix ;)

actually, he made a profitable business doing something called Community Supported Agriculture

he made a website called Angelic Organics

now, I didn’t understand it 100% but the main thing is that he grows organic food and that people invest in him financially so that they may have like a basket of food each week

the people also work on his farm and have fun doing things

I think the idea is great

I for one am sick of the food I buy at big supermarkets

food with pesticides, genetic modifications etc.

so, whenever I can, I buy food from peasants I know

that way I support my community instead of filling pockets of rich corporations

Here’s a Wikipedia entry of this documentary :)

Electric Car Is NOT Dead!

Tuesday, February 19th, 2008

now read what I think…

we live in a selfish world

but probably the most selfish are the big corporations.

why?

well, because they make BIG profits. and the more they make the more selfish they become

they don’t care what they manufacture as long as it brings them money. environment? community? what’s that?

corporations just don’t give away their money. they may give some to make an impression to the public that “they care” when in fact they don’t ;)

don’t fall for that

what’s the problem with the electric car?

the problem is that it works. right here. right now.

and they don’t want you to know about that.

because if they were to implement the electric car on your request

the oil companies could loose A TON of profit on gas, gas that is about to get ridiculously more expensive than it already is

the car part companies would also loose money on maintenance because electric cars have so few spare parts

and the winner would be you, John Doe, Jane Doe

because you would charge your car at your home

your environment would be better (no exhaust on electric car) and your children would have less asthma

you could lower CO2 emissions and control the global warming

you would pay like a quarter of the prices for fuel you’re paying right now

you would feel better driving in a lot less noise and your engine would have a good torque

you would not need all those pricey repairs

you would not use the motor oils that pollute

etc.

sure, the electric cars have their problems

like the limited milage (batteries related)

actually the biggest problem are the batteries

but, it is usable if you don’t drive more than 60-100 miles before recharging (battery dependent)

actually there are better batteries nowadays, that give more driving economy

the thing is

those companies do not want to bother to make the electric car work

because of their profits

they want something that will drain the money out of you

a fuel that would have a lot of problems before getting to you

a fuel that they can charge you more because of those reasons so their profit could increase (take a look at the hidrogen fuel problems and the fuel cells george bush is promoting)

the whole corporate economy is based on profit

not on ecology (global warming)

not on what you consumers actually need

well the thing is, by using corporate owned media (TV, newspapers etc.)

they are telling you what your needs are, what you should think about various issues

they modify you so that when voting time comes, they know you will make the right choice

and that you’d feel good about that choice because they’ve also told that to your peers, you all think now the same

today, the electric car technology is usable

we need an effort from the people to make those companies manufacture it

or we have to grow aware that we can modify existing cars

an interesting thing happened in California, one of the most polluted countries in the USA

they made a Zero Emission Act (or something like that)

requiring companies to sell like 5% of the cars that do not pollute

at all!

and while the companies didn’t like that, they did it

because they wanted the market share of those few %

and then they lobbied

so that the act was canceled

also, at one time, the government was giving 4000 $ tax reduction when buying electric car

but the government was also giving 100 000 $ tax reduction when buying a truck like a hummer

the message there?

go buy a big car that will use A LOT of fuel

by using A LOT of fuel the oil companies profit will get A LOT bigger

you just have to be smart enough to actually go with the scheme ;)

if you haven’t seen it already, go and watch the movie called “Who Killed The Electric Car?

search for it on youtube, maybe you’ll find something ;)

I’ve been investigating on the electric cars, and I’ve found websites selling conversion kits for various cars :)

I’ve also read a thing or two about the flywheel

that can be used to store energy instead of batteries (is more efficient)

but as long as they can charge you on an obsolete fuel technology they will do that and their profits will grow since the there’s so little of oil left

my idea was about using flywheel to store cheap electricity at night and use it at daytime, maybe sell it to my electricity company

I even found some products on the market based on flywheel

but those need to get improved and I’m not optimistic in that regard

Free Documentaries

Monday, December 10th, 2007

I love documentaries, I really enjoy them. So when I found freedocumentaries.org I felt like I was in a candy shop :)

The reason I love documentaries is that they (usually) give you an objective picture of the reality and the works behind the scenes.

It took me a couple of weeks but I saw many of them. Let me recommend some

If you appreciate what these people are doing, you may donate and help keep them going…
